Steel-Cased Piling

01

Mini Piling

Mini piling systems are ideal for a wide range of applications, particularly in restricted access locations and existing buildings, where traditional piling methods are not suitable. They provide an effective foundation solution for complex ground conditions and specialist construction requirements. Read Moreadd

Steel-Cased Piling

There are various clear advantages to driven cased piles. Firstly, driven cased piles are simple and economical to drive with an internal drop hammer or grundomat, there is less noise pollution and thin light, manageable casings can be used. They provide flexibility as piles can easily be cut or lengthened as casings can be supplied in any length and in a wide range of diameters and thickness. Casings are light but are rigid enough to be transported and handled without the precautions needed with precast concrete piles.

Open Bore Piling

This piling method is ideal for use in cohesive soils. The rotating auger is forced into the strata reaming out the soil as it goes. Once the required or desired depth has been met the augers are with drawn leaving an "open hole". Steel reinforcement is then placed before being filled with concrete.

Section Flight Auger

SFA piling is created by drilling sectional augers flights into the ground. The sides of the hole are supported at all times by the soil, auger or placed concrete, eliminating the need for the temporary casing or bentonite slurry. Upon reaching the required depth, sand-cement grout or concrete is pumped down the auger flight filling the pile, whilst the augers are steadily and slowly withdrawn. Once filled reinforcement is immediately placed into the pile.

RC Ground Beams

Our standard beam section is 450mm x 450mm but this is amended to suit the build and conditions on site where necessary. The advantages of cast in situ beams over precast are mainly lower cost and improved flexibility, especially if the piles are deflected out of tolerance. RC beams are ideally suited for smaller contracts or restricted sites, as there is a much shorter lead time and no need for large delivery vehicles.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls are used for holding back soil so an area can be excavated. They can be constructed with small spaces using either bored piles or sheet piles being determined by the nature and condition of the soil itself and the site conditions. Contiguous pile walls are an innovative way to build retaining walls.

RC Slabs

Similar to RC ground beams, we offer design-and-build services for RC slabs in new builds, residential extensions, or commercial projects. They can also be used in underpinning works.
